Lumber Ridge Laurel Mists – Clue 4 Finished!

Here it is! I finished Laurel Mists’ clue 4 just as the weekend was wrapping up. I suspected the mosaic motif would return and I was right! The colors shifted in the motif this time, with CC1 and CC2 used instead of the MC and CC1. I enjoyed watching the CC1 color shift in the mosaic section and wished that there was more color variation earlier in the sock blank.

After clue 4, this is the yarn I have left:

  • MC (Desert Clay) – 70 g
  • CC1 (Wanderlust) – 7 g
  • CC2 (Lost Lagoon) – 60 g

If I run out of Wanderlust I’ll switch to using Desert Clay; on the School of SweetGeorgia forums the designer said that CC1 won’t be used in clue 5. My guess is that the bind off will be in CC1, but we’ll see!

I used the recommended cable length in the pattern and the stitches are getting really tight as the shawl gets bigger; I’ve seen some people stretch their projects out and it’s looking really nice! Can’t wait to see this blocked.

Have you finished with clue 4 yet? Are you happy with how your Laurel Mists is turning out? You can pick up the pattern on the SweetGeorgia website or Ravelry! If you’d like to check out my prior progress you can read my posts on the kick-offclue 1clue 2 and clue 3!
