Hi there! My name is Diane, and I’ve been dancing and participating in the fiber and textile arts for most of my life. I’ve been dancing Argentine Tango since 2009, and performing with Evolution Tango on their Performance Team since 2015. Dancing tango brings so much joy to my life!
While preparing for performances, I’ve noticed there is a missing gap of knowledge shared online for making dancewear and costumes. Performance clothes for dancing can get very expensive! I knew that I could make better outfits for me, and I want to share what I’ve learned along the way to help other dancers make their own dancewear and costumes.
I’ve been crocheting for most of my life and picked up knitting around 2014. I’ve since also become curious about other fiber arts like weaving, and want to share how easy and accessible these hobbies are. In 2019 I started a local group for my other dancing friends who also knit, and the idea of Dancing Needles was born!
