Sailing Strawberry Tea Sweater

Another project finished! I completed this Sailing Sweater some time ago but finally found time this weekend to weave in the ends and take photos. It’s a bit unconventional but I like it; I’m looking forward to wearing it as a warm up layer before my dance classes.

I made the regular size using 6 skeins of SweetGeorgia Superwash Worsted in Strawberry Tea. I alternated between 3 skeins at a time, and somehow one side of the sweater came out more muted than the other! I’m not too bothered by it, and since both sides are knitted the same way I can choose if I want a more “strawberry” color in the front or more “tea”. I haven’t weighed the yarn I have left but I’m sure I have enough for a hat.

The pattern is well-written and includes both charts and written instructions. I did get a little confused when sewing the two sides together; the easiest way to get the orientation right is to put them wrong side together in such a way that the same sleeve is on the “up” side as you knitted across.

If you like relaxed styles or want an easy sweater project, I can recommend this one! If you’d like to get the pattern it’s available on Ravelry. Have you completed a Sailing Sweater? What did you think of it? Please leave a comment below!
