Growing Camella Hat

Have you tried knitting brioche yet? I just finished this Camella Hat in Dream in Color Cosette Grow and Ivy Snowbell, and I think it would be a great first brioche project!

I purchased the yarn at a festival in 2019, and had planned to make a different brioche project with it. Can you believe it took me almost two years to knit something up with it, because the yarn is very soft and nice to knit with. I decided my initial project idea was maybe too ambitious for me and decided to make a hat instead. If you have knit something in Fisherman’s Rib and can read that, you’ll be able to do two-color brioche with no problem!

I found some helpful videos for this pattern if you’d like to make it:

I love botanical designs, and the leafy design in Camella is perfect for the yarn I used. Dream in Color Cosette is much softer than 100% superwash DK, and really lovely to knit with.

I knit the brim longer than the pattern indicates, but otherwise knit as indicated on size 2 needles. I knit Continental style, and tend to go down a needle size from the recommended in patterns.

Have you tried knitting brioche yet? What do you think about the technique? If you want to try a brioche project I can recommend Camella!
